DergiPark Article Search: How to Find Turkish Articles with AI for Your Thesis

Is there an AI tool that can search DergiPark and help you find relevant articles? Yes. Most DergiPark articles are already in Jenni, so you can search them and cite them in APA from your document.
Turkish researchers asked us this question, so we tested it on 3 thesis topics in Turkish. For uzaktan eğitim (distance education), all 10 of the top results came from journals hosted on DergiPark.

TLDR
Coverage - most DergiPark articles are searchable in Jenni, and Find papers shows the journal name under the article title.
Search - type your topic in Turkish, not the word "DergiPark". In our tests, Turkish keywords put DergiPark journals at the top.
Reference - click Cite for an APA in-text citation and a reference entry with the DOI. Choose the Türkçe locale for "vd." in place of "et al."
What DergiPark Is and Who Runs It

DergiPark is Turkey's national platform for academic journals. It is run by TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM, the National Academic Network and Information Center.
According to DOAJ, DergiPark hosts about 2,500 open access journals. About 95% of them are Diamond open access, which means they charge no fees to readers or to authors.
So the articles are free to read. DergiPark also supplies DOIs for about 1,500 of its journals, and a DOI is a permanent link that keeps a reference working.
Can You Search DergiPark Articles With AI?
Yes. Most DergiPark articles are already in Jenni's search, so they appear in Find papers next to your document.
We checked with the word dergipark itself. The first result in Find papers was an article titled "DergiPark Akademik", published in Acta Medica Alanya. That journal is hosted on DergiPark too.
To find DergiPark articles, search your topic in Turkish. There is no DergiPark-only filter, and a search for the word DergiPark returns articles about the platform itself.
We ran 4 searches, 3 in Turkish and 1 in English. The table counts how many of the top 10 results came from DergiPark journals.
Search | Language | Top 10 results from DergiPark journals |
uzaktan eğitim (distance education) | Turkish | 10 |
okul öncesi eğitim (early childhood education) | Turkish | 9 |
hemşirelik öğrencileri (nursing students) | Turkish | 7 |
distance education in Turkey | English | 3 |
The English search returned mostly international journals on the same topic. A literature review needs those as well, so search in both languages and use Turkish keywords for DergiPark.

<ProTip title="📌 Remember:" description="Some DergiPark records store titles in capital letters or list DergiPark in place of the journal name. Check each reference against the article page before you submit." />
Some results show Open quote in place of View. That button opens the full PDF inside Jenni, and the literature review section shows how to use it.
4. Sort and filter the results
Sort - Relevance, Most Recent, Oldest or Most Cited.
Publish year - pick a year, and the list keeps articles from that year onward.
Cited by - All, 5+, 20+ or 50+.

The Filter panel with a publish year and a Cited by minimum selected
Most Cited puts the articles with the highest citation counts first. For uzaktan eğitim, the first 3 had 283, 235 and 158 citations.
<ProTip title="🎯 Aim for:" description="Start with Cited by 5+. On uzaktan eğitim with 2020 as the start year, all top 10 results still came from DergiPark journals." />
5. Cite the article in APA
Place the cursor where the citation belongs, then click Cite on the result. Jenni adds the in-text citation and builds a References list under the document, with the DOI as a link.

How to Do a Literature Review With DergiPark Articles
A literature review starts long before the first paragraph. The steps below follow that work in Jenni, from the first search to the last citation.
Collect - search your topic in Turkish and in English. Click Save on each useful article, pick a Library collection or type a new name, then click Add to Library.
<ProTip title="💡 Pro Tip:" description="Name each collection after a chapter or a theme, for example Uzaktan Eğitim. Your sources then stay in groups that match the structure of your thesis." />
Read - on results with Open quote, the full PDF opens inside Jenni with the matching passage highlighted. Click Chat in the PDF header, and AI Chat answers questions about that article.

Open quote opens the article PDF in Jenni with the matching passage highlighted
We asked AI Chat to summarize one open access article from Milli Eğitim Dergisi in 3 bullet points, using only the attached PDF. The reply grouped the findings under 3 headings and cited the article after each point.
Ask for a DergiPark-only reading list - AI Chat can also search for sources. Name DergiPark and Turkish journals in your request, like this:
"Find articles about distance education in Turkey. Only use sources from Turkish journals on DergiPark."

AI Chat asked to use only Turkish journals on DergiPark
That request returned 51 sources, and every one came from a DergiPark journal. Without the "only use" line, AI Chat may add international journals as well.
<ProTip title="📝 Note:" description="AI Chat lists every source under its reply, with a link to each article. Open the list to see where each article was published." />
Write and check - group the articles by theme and write each theme in your document. Click Cite while you write. Our guide on how to organize sources for a literature review covers the grouping step.
When the text is ready, run Source Quality to check your citations for retractions and preprints. Then run Claim Confidence to find claims with missing or weak citations.
