Source quality review

Checking whether your citations are retracted, out of date, or all drawn from the same journal meant reading through them one by one, now Source Quality Review flags them for you.

Added

  • Source quality is now available as a new review type. Jenni checks the citations in your document for retracted, supporting document, unverified, preprint and rarely cited sources and flags them in your document

  • Ability to show page numbers in citations, now set from the citation style dialog so the same preference applies in both AI Chat and the editor

Changed

  • The AI Chat panel can now be widened with the left sidebar auto-collapsing

  • AI Edit now uses the same context pills and popover as AI Chat

  • Generating headings now also generates a section prompt for each heading

  • Improved quality for title and document headings generation

  • Replacing a source in Source Quality no longer removes the citation first, an inline search now appears in the diff popover so you can pick the replacement

  • Pinch zoom in the PDF viewer is less aggressive and no longer over or under-shoots

  • The sign-in page now shows which method you used last, so it's easier to pick the right authentication method

  • Improved sign-up screen when joining a document through a collaboration invite

  • Citing from the Review sidebar now shows a lighter, time-based success signal instead of a persistent Citation added message meaning you can cite the same source in multiple places

  • Citation cards in the review popover now match the claim confidence colour treatment

  • Upload and chat cards in the empty document state now wrap instead of overflowing in narrow windows

  • Multiple accessibility improvements including a skip link to the main content, screen-reader labels translated across all 16 languages, and reduced-motion support in mobile drawers and the AI authoring menus

  • Editor toolbar no longer shows in the document empty state on mobile

Fixed

  • Copying Jenni text with citations into Pages, Google Docs, and other apps no longer shows dummy-citation.com links

  • PDFs with more than 100 images, including large 300+ page files, now upload and process without failing

  • Scanned PDFs that do have selectable text no longer show an image extraction failure

  • Large .docx exports no longer fail to open in Microsoft Word

  • Citation matching on .docx import no longer stops updating partway through long documents

  • DOI imports now map to the correct work type instead of defaulting almost everything to journal article

  • References can be jumped to from the table of contents again

  • Thinking traces no longer overlap section progress in mobile reviews
