Chat citation filters

AI Chat now supports citation filters allow you to filter responses by publication year, impact factor, citation count and preprint status.

Added

  • New Citation filters in the AI Chat context menu. Filter by publication year, impact factor, and citation count, and choose whether to include preprints

  • Ability to control the library sources Jenni reads to specific collections or individual sources in document settings and section prompts

  • Section prompts now have their own context control, so a single section can draw on a different set of sources to the rest of the document

  • Ability to upload a new source from anywhere context can be added

  • Citation constraints written as natural language into your document prompt are now applied automatically as retrieval filters

Changed

  • Context and filters now use the same controls across AI Chat, AI Edit, section prompts, and document prompts

  • Inline equations that fail to render now fall back to an AI repair pass instead of showing a red error

  • Code blocks have been polished throughout — improved Mermaid controls, a language switcher that opens as a drawer on mobile, and better theming for code blocks and placeholders

  • Code blocks now export to LaTeX using listings, so formatting survives the trip

  • Math blocks now show and focus their input as soon as you create them

  • Image, math, and code block actions now share the same UI controls

  • Reference lists in AI Chat are now capped with a See more control instead of running the full length of the message

  • The document setup checklist now shows only the critical citation settings on mobile devices

  • When editor container is narrow, Prompts collapses to icon-only

  • Section prompts no longer open when the heading isn't being edited

  • On mobile, the editor toolbar no longer stays visible in the title field and the app is no longer blocked after opening the export menu

  • Dragged editor block content no longer appears far to the left while you drag it

  • Zotero and Mendeley lists no longer shift while items resolve
