Go to http://researchkick.com and click on "Get started."

  1. Sign up with you email and choose a plan according to your requirements.

2. Type in the title of your research project or any relevant keywords in the text box. The click on “Generate.”

3. Research Kick will give you a list of research questions. Read through them and select one you find most interesting.

4. Once you've selected a question, click on the "Options" button. You will see three options. Click on “Refine this question.”

5. Research Kick will ask you for additional details. Type in additional details and click on “Refine.”

6. Research Kick will give you refined versions of the question you selected. Once again, read through the questions and select one you find most compelling.

7. Once your selected question, click on “Options” and select “Match available literature.”

Research Kick will ask you to select a database. It has four databases: Scite, Semantic Scholar, PubMed, and Google Scholar.

PubMed is meant only for biomedical literature while the other three cover all academic fields.

Select the relevant databases and click on “Match.”

Research Kick will scan the databases and will tell you if your selected research question is novel enough or not.

If your selected research question has already been adequately addressed in published literature, Research Kick will tell you that too. In that case, repeat the above steps with another question.

10. Take the question that Research Kick gives and paste it in a new document in Jenni.

With Research Kick and Jenni, you will be able to get started on your research project in a matter of minutes.
